Yes, another podcast…but let me explain!
This venture is admittedly difficult for me, and I crave not only your support, but patience! Over the years, I’ve struggled with any consistent branding or regular content. Partially, this is due to the creative streak running within me; I enjoy what’s new. However, this is also due to insecurity, fear of failure, timidity…all of which I’m told are common to humankind. (At least I’m with good people!)
Regardless, I am here, humbly offering a new project with a simple goal: to advocate for a politics and theology of the Left. In an age dominated by reactionary tendencies from the right, both politically and theologically, it is imperative for the sake of justice that we continue to develop and use leftist politics and theology. Far too many lives are at stake not to take this opportunity. There are, of course, many others ahead of me on a similar path, and I learn a great detail from them (Elizabeth Bruenig, @TheLitCritGuy, and The Magnificast come to mind). They, among others, deserve our support and credit for spearheading the conversation on theology and leftist politics. I hope, insofar as I am able, to offer my voice to the conversation and praxis.
So, what can you expect in the coming weeks?
- Podcast recordings. This is the first and most prominent way I plan to contribute to the conversation at hand.
- Writings. In addition to the podcast, I will begin offering blog posts and other selections on the intersections between Christian theology and leftist politics. In comparison to the podcast, these pieces will not be released as frequently, and most will only be available on Patreon.
- Patreon. Offering this content takes time and effort. I won’t be asking for much financially, but some of the content will only be available to patrons. More details will be available soon.
At this time, I can’t guarantee a definite schedule for recordings and other content; my goal is to offer something at least once a week. However, I pledge to be as consistent as I am able.
And why everything under @rmasvg? I couldn’t come up with a catchy name, and it makes everything simple because it’s easy to type.
